The Krui3ers

The Krui3ers are an original 4 piece rock band from the Mowanjum Community in the Kimberley region of Western Australia, made up with members Kallum Mungulu (acoustic guitar, lead singer), Derek Oobagooma (drums/singer), Edmund Jungine (bass/singer) and Cassius Bear (lead guitarist). Their musical style is high energy country rock combined with melodic chorus lines and distinctive guitar riffs. As direct descendants of renowned Mowanjum band Gulingi Nunga, they continue to perform their songs while bringing their own style to the strong musical culture found within the community of Mowanjum.

The Krui3ers sing of their connection to Country (Worrorra) and share their understanding from the old people and their experiences of being forced to move five times onto other Country. The songs contrast their life growing up in Mowanjum (which means settled at last) and the comfort of going back to visit Country on the coast. The 3 in The Krui3ers represents the three tribes in the Mowanjum Community – Worrorra, Ngarynin and Wunumbal.

The Krui3ers have played multiple venues in Kimberley over the last 9 years and traveled across the nation to play Tamworth Country Music Festival NSW in 2016, Boab Festival, Mardi Gras 2018, 2019 and 2021,Saltwater Festival Broome 2018, 2019 and 2021, Muddy Water Music Festival Derby 2019 and Derby Expo 2019, 2020. They will make their debut live performance in the South West at Nannup Music Festival in 2023.

On August 25th, 2022 The Krui3ers released their first studio album Rebel Child co-produced by Australian songwriter and musician Nicholas Allbook (POND) and The Krui3ers.
